Bagged Aggregates

The McArthur Group supply bagged aggregates to commercial & domestic building contractors/projects. We have a range of bagged aggregates in the form of Soft building sand, sharp sand, shingle & ballast ideal for a variety of building applications & uses. Our bagged aggregates are available in 25kg and are exclusively available from our Bristol & Rye branches. Soft Building Sand

Builder Sand is a base aggregate product used for a variety of different uses. Its main use is for maintenance & construction work. The product can also be called Soft sand within the industry to avoid any confusion in the industry with Sharp Sand. Building sand is finer than normal aggregate & gives a smoother consistency when used in the building trade.

Builder sand consists of grains of different sizes which is an advantage as this prevents it from clumping together as much as some other sands do. Soft Sand comes in 25kg bags and are available from our Bristol and Rye branches only.

Sharp Sand

Sharp Sand is a rather coarse and gritty material. It is normally used with other, coarse aggregates for making concrete and floor screeds.

Shingle

Often known as pea shingle. This product is ideal for: driveways & footpaths, drainage, pipe bedding and landscaping. It is also ideal for surrounding underground fuel tanks.

However, due to its attractive appearance and neutral coloring it is also widely used as decorative aggregates for garden landscaping and paths.

Shingle comes in 25kg bags and is available from our Bristol and Rye branches only.

Ballast

Ballast is a ready to use aggregate for ease of use for you! All you need to do is add water and cement. Ballast mix is a mixture of sand, gravel and small pebbles. Ballast is strong enough to use for conservatory bases, fence posts and paving our concreting ballast is ready made to make it easier for you.

Ballast comes in 25kg bags and is available from our Bristol and Rye branches only.
